ISCA Competitors Win at SEMA!

Here is a write up on the Battle of the Builders Competition at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association the was held in Las Vegas last week:


The fourth annual Battle of the Builders Competition was held October 30th thru November 4th in Las Vegas in conjunction with the annual SEMA Show. The competition began with over 200 entries competing for 40 spots that would be trimmed, the next day, to the Final 12.

This year eight of the final twelve have shown and competed in the ISCA and the Summit Racing Equipment Show Car Series. The list, which includes some of the country’s top builders, is Alan Johnson – 1932 Ford (finished second in the competition), Andy Leach – 1930 Ford, Troy Ladd – 1936 Packard (finished third in the competition), Larry Griffey – 1954 Corvette, Mike Markin – 1938 Graham (the 2017 ISCA Overall Champion), Scott Roth – 1966 Corvette, Eddie Pettus – 1963 Corvette, and Troy Trepanier – 1929 Ford (the winner of the 2017 SEMA Battle of the Builders).

The other four entries included Phil and Jeremy Gerber – 1969 Camaro and Jeremy Miranda – 1969 Camaro. Both of these have had Great 8 entries in the past. The final two were Chris Payne – 1995 Ford Bronco and Peter Nam – 1995 Porsche 911.
